Caring in Crisis Africa (CiCA)

Opening Doors, Creating Hope
— CiCA UK

Caring in Crisis Africa (CiCA) is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty within Africa through providing families with support and tools that will help in long-term progress. CiCA currently works in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Kenya, and provides children with educational sponsorship and the support needed to break out of poverty cycles.  They also run The Ubuntu project, which is run in schools by CiCA trained nurses. It aims to address period poverty and make girls aware of human trafficking and abuse.

Our Chair, Michelle has been on a few trips to Zambia to visit families and see first hand how the charity is able to provide families with opportunities for education through sponsorship. She was able to see the beginnings of The Ubuntu Project, which has stepped in where other aid organisations were unable to continue due to funding cuts and to see the work they do with local churches to educate and support young people into further education or work.
